Carol Jean Carter obituary



Carol Jean Carter, 77, of Fort Scott Kansas died on January 1, 2022 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Carol was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on April 3, 1944, to George and Sophia Sinn in Fort Scott Kansas.

Carol grew up on a small farm outside of Fort Scott. She graduated from Fort Scott High School and was married, living in Wichita, Kansas, where she started her family, raising three children. She lived in Indiana for a few years but returned to Wichita. Her dream, however, was always to return home to Fort Scott to be closer to her church and family, which she achieved in the fall of 2000. She bought a small piece of land, built a house and a farm. small barn for his grandchildren to play. during the visit. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and was avid quilting. In 2014, she was diagnosed with dementia and eventually moved to Minnesota and then Illinois to be closer to her family.

Carol is survived by her three children Sheryl (Dale) Toews; Tim (Michelle) Carter; and Darren (Michele) Carter; one brother Delbert Sinn; one sister Joyce Sinn; seven grandchildren, Blake and Chelsea Toews, Kara and Keith Carter, Cole, Mackenzie and Tyler Carter; and ex-spouse, Earl Carter.

She is predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Don, Dick and Kenny Sinn.

Ministers Larry Bahr and Jeff Fischer will celebrate Carol’s funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Christian Apostolic Church, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, under the direction of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, January 6, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
