Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet with Infosys Managing Director (MD) and Managing Director (CEO) Salil Parekh on Monday regarding issues on the income tax portal that have not occurred. not yet been resolved more than two months since its launch.
The income tax department said Parekh was summoned by the finance ministry to explain why multiple issues continue to hamper the portal’s smooth functioning. He added that since August 21, the site “is not available”.

The portal www. Incometax.gov.in has had a bumpy start since it opened on June 7, as taxpayers, tax professionals and other stakeholders reported problems in its operation.

Speaking on the matter, Sitharaman said last week: “The problems at the new site should be fully corrected within the next two or three weeks.”
“I constantly call Infosys and Nandan Nilekani gives me the assurance that they will solve the problem,” she added.
Between January 2019 and June 2021, the government paid ??164.5 crore to Infosys for the development of the portal.
Previously, the Parliament had been informed that Infosys had recognized the technical problems and that some of the initial problems such as the slow functioning of the site and the non-availability of certain functionalities had been mitigated.
The IT department was taking corrective action through Infosys based on feedback from stakeholders, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written response.
