Social house ice cream

BOONEVILLE – The Nittany / Sugar Valley United Methodist Charge will be holding their annual Homemade Ice Cream Party on July 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Booneville Campground on Campground Road.

Homemade ice cream, pies, hot sausage sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available for your dining pleasure. Come join in the fun, camaraderie and great food.


VBS rail at Booneville campsite

BOONEVILLE – Various Churches in Sugar Valley Area Combine to Host “Rocky Railway VBS” July 18 to 22 at Booneville campground, camping trail.

The hours are 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday July 18 and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday July 19 to 22. Daily activities will include songs, videos, Bible adventures, crafts, games and snacks. Children of all ages are welcome!

Garage sale

WOOLRICH – Woolrich Community UMC will be having a big garage sale, rain or shine today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church community center. The cost of the items will be per donation only. The church mission team will be selling hot dogs, drinks and baked goods at 525 Park Ave. to support their annual Christmas project.

VBS at Caldwell / Woolrich UMC

UMC’s Caldwell / Woolrich Charge will be hosting a two-day vacation Bible school, Anchored-Deepening Faith in God, from 9 a.m. to noon for children who have completed Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Woolrich Church will host June 21 and 22 in Woolrich Park, Pavilion # 1, and Caldwell Church on June 23 and 24 at Caldwell Church. No pre-registration is required, but if you message the Caldwell or Woolrich Church Facebook page, or leave a voicemail message at 570-769-6152 with your name, number of children and where you will attend.

Father’s Day picnic

HOWARD – Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard, will be hosting a free Father’s Day picnic on Sunday, June 20 from 11 am to 2 pm.

The meal can be taken on site or to take away only from the village hall. If the weather permits, it will be outside.

The menu will include hot dogs and burgers with all the trimmings, a potato salad, a pasta salad, baked beans, fries and dessert.

Reservations are accepted, but are not required. Those who make a reservation will receive a gift bag.
