Ministry prepares Turkish Youth Atlas

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has prepared a detailed report on the habits of young people living in Turkey and the 6 million potential first-time voters.

Minister Muharrem Kasapoğlu last week presented the Generation Z report to senior officials of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

“There are 6 million young voters who will vote for the first time. A total of 16.96 million voters between the ages of 17 and 29 will vote in the upcoming elections. Some 89.2% of them say they will go to the polls. Our strategy for 2023 is to recognize the targeted young population, understand their expectations and build a language with inclusive processes,” the report states.

Around twenty surveys were conducted among 150,000 young people on volunteering, sports culture, digital skills, entrepreneurship, social relations, daily life and satisfaction. The results will be published together in the Atlas of Turkish Youth.
According to the first results, 82.3% of young people connect at least two hours a day. The credibility rates for news published on social networks are 32.2% for Youtube, 30.1% for Twitter, 29.8% for Instagram, 21.1% for Twitch and Linkedin, 19.8% for Tiktok and 19.6% for Facebook.
